John Romita Jr. & Mark Millar confirm: “Kick-Ass” to hit the Big Screen !
Move Over Spider-Man !!!! Mark Millar has something to say !
The self proclaimed “Greatest Super-Hero Of All Time” just found out he’s now going to be the Biggest Movie Star of all time..
”Kick-Ass” is going to hit the big screen !!!
c0micb00ks.com has spoken to both Mark Millar (Kick-Ass Writer) and John Romita Jr. (Kick-Ass Artist), and they have both confirmed to us the movie is in pre-production!
We at c0micb00ks.com are really glad to hear that because the “Kick-Ass” comic is one of the best readers we’ve seen since Marvel Zombies and Civil War took the comic nations by storm.
We have no-doubt that this is going to be a hit film, Millar’s stories have been turning heads everywhere!
“Kick-Ass” Issue # 1 has sold out everywhere and gone into several prints due to the huge demand!
Mark Millar has proven again that he is the hottest writter on the planet ! Almost everything Mark writes these days is turning into a Big Screen movie, and these movies are keeping Millar so busy that he told us that he wishes he had more time to actually write new stories!
Here is what John Romita Jr. had to say to c0micb00ks.com on the “Kick-Ass” movie:
c0micb00ks.com - (Question) “John we just heard from a fan here at the San Diego Comic-Con that the “Kick-Ass” comic series may get a movie deal, is that true?”
John Romita Jr. - (Answer) “Yes that is true, actually the deal has already been made, and pre-production is just about to start on the movie”
c0micb00ks.com - (Question) Fans will be thrilled to here that, the “Kick-Ass” title has really taken off, what’s your take on it?”
John Romita Jr. - (Answer) “I’m glad everyone likes it, I enjoy doing the artwork on it, it’s different then what I usually do, it’s pretty bloody!”
c0micb00ks.com - (Question) Yes we are big fans of the title too and all the blood! That same fan who informed me on the movie rumor five minutes ago, asked if I could have you sign his “Kick-Ass #1″ for him, would you mind?
John Romita Jr. - (Answer) No problem, tell him I said thanks! (John signed the book JRJR 08′)
(The un-named fan was thrilled to see his book getting signed from the distance, when I gave it back to him, he was smilling from ear to ear and thanked c0micb00ks.com over and over for helping him to get his comic signed by John Romita Jr. - no problem we told him, that’s what we do!)
A few weeks later we double confirmed the movie deal with Mark Millar!
Here is what Mark Millar had to say to c0micb00ks.com on his success and on the movie news:
c0micb00ks.com - (Question) “Mark, congrats to you on all your recent writing success, it seems everything your writing turns to gold for industry! We just heard from John Romita Jr. that there is a “Kick-Ass” movie in the works, is that still true?
Mark Millar - (Answer) “Yes it’s true, we’ve already started pre-production on the film.”
c0micb00ks.com - (Question) “That’s great news Mark, we are really looking foward to it! What do you think about how much attention all your writing is having?”
Mark Millar - (Answer) “Actually, I’m really suprised at how much attention my work is getting now. I remember when I was in my 20’s, no one even cared about my work, I was broke all the time and I didn’t have a dime to my name, but now, I’m so busy with the movies and promos that I have almost no time to write anything new!” “I’m really happy everyone enjoys my stories, I enjoy writing them, I just wish I had more time to write more stories for everyone.”
c0micb00ks.com - (Question) “What kind of promo work has been keeping you from writing?”
Mark Millar - (Answer) “Well, between being on movie sets, I’ve been doing alot of shows to promote some of the titles I work on. Currently we’re doing a nation wide coast to coast promo tour for Image comics to promote my most recent work on ”War Heroes”. Tony Harris- the artist for “War Heroes”, and I are flying as much as twice a day to promote the comic for Image” We’re calling it the “Tour of Duty” and we released a special blank cover variant of War Heroes #1 just for the tour.”
(We picked up a copy and had Tony Harris do a nice sketch of the main character from “War Heroes”)
c0micb00ks.com - (Question) “Sounds like everyone is keeping you pretty busy, how has the promo tour been so far?”
Mark Millar - (Answer) ”It’s been great, we’re having alot of fun meeting fans and we joke around all the time. I’m having a great time doing this with Tony(Harris).”
Let’s hope Mark finds the time to keep writing new stories because he’s been giving comic fans amazing storylines over the last few years. Mark is now famous for his creation of Marvel’s “Civil War”, “The Ultimates”, “Kick-Ass”, “1985″, and his most recent movie “Wanted” (based on a comic book) stared Angelina Jolie. Mark’s latest title “War Heros” is also very promising and will probley get a movie deal too!
Great job Mark, keep on “Kicking-Ass”!
Stay tuned for more details! We promise to keep you filled in as we get more details!

The kid that played in Jerry Maguire, Jonathan Lipnicki, he would be good for that part, but he might be too old now.
